Mark met Effie several years ago at the Charleston train station when he came to pick me up. She had boarded the train at Winter Park. We were amazed to learn we had mutual friends. She told us she had known Jim Engleman all of her life and had been to see him and Chip Reif in Orlando.

When Effie went to San Diego, California, she had lunch with Mark's cousin, Tom Johnston, at the del Coronado. He convinced her to have her hair colored "just a little" and one thing led to another. Tom is a celebrity consultant and knew just how to convince Effie to have the full treatment.
