johnrcoles.net started in 1990 as Graphic Desing Services. At that time, the focus of the business was graphic design for overflow printing jobs for several local printing companies.

I have been an Electronic Communications and Crypto Systems repairman in the United States Air Force, a film animator for South Carolina Educational Television, Media Director for the Chester County Department of Education, Assistant Professor of Media Arts at the University of South Carolina, Manager of The Charleston Adventure theatre, and Director of Communications for the National Golf Course Owners Association.

Along the way, I had my artwork selected by the South Carolina Artisans Center; wrote and published a book about Charleston movie theatres; taught classes in the Arts Management Program at the College of Charleston; designed websites for the Art History Department at the College of Charleston and the Avery Research Center for African American History and Culture; and, became a licensed Charleston City tour guide.

My current projects include designing websites and collaborating with Mark Tiedje on a book about the history of South Carolina's single-screen movie theatres.
